Because the image is not on the surface but infused into the surface, it produces a high-gloss luminosity that cannot be achieved otherwise. Images are printed onto special transfer paper and that transfer print is placed on a recycled aluminum sheet and baked in a 450º F heat press. The ink from the transfer print goes through a process known as “dye sublimation” which changes the ink from a solid to a gas without forming a liquid. The gas dye molecularly bonds with and infuses into the coated metal surface. The final result is a permanent, image with an almost magical luminescence. It comes mounted so that it “floats” off the wall.
When ordering a print, I recommend that you first decide where you will hang it, and then measure the area so you know what size of print you want to fill that space. Please consider how the print will be lit, and depending on that light what finish you might like. The default finish is High Gloss, which tends to give reflection. A semi gloss or matte finish will eliminate that reflection but is a duller finish. I am available to work out the details with you.
