Road trip Friday. I shout to the universe “Where this time?” and the voice that comes back says “Kings Canyon“! It’s been a year since I went to Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Park which are sister parks adjacent to each other, so a quick check of the weather and I’m off. King’s Canyon is about 200 miles northeast of Los Angeles; about a 3 1/2 hour drive. This is what I love so much about landscape photography; getting out of the city and into God’s country. I think this is a meadow, if not it’s the beautiful landscape on the way to Hume Lake.
Whenever I get out in nature I find a place to sit and meditate. This was that spot at Hume Lake:
This hill on General’s Highway down into King’s Canyon reminded me of another place in Asia where the mountains and hills look like they’re floating.
There’s been some rain this year so the vegetation is lush and the Kings River is full from the ice melt.
Further down General’s Highway is Grizzly Falls:
Plan to spend the day or two days when you go to these magnificent parks, and when you get there sit down, take a deep breath, then take another, then one more and just listen
Til next time.
